FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-I’m out of breastmilk storage bags. Can I send my milk another way?-
No! We require that breastmilk be sent in a breastmilk storage bag, inside of two other ziplock bags for safety during shipping. They are the best option for preventing leaks and mold during transit. Bottles or other containers are far more likely to crack, burst, or leak in shipping.
-Do I need to ship my milk overnight or include an ice pack?-
No! Overnight shipping and ice packs are not needed. Ice packs tend to melt during transit and can create a mess inside the package, so please do not include one. Room temperature milk will be just fine during transit as long as it is shipping in a breastmilk storage bag.
-Does the shipping carrier matter?-
No! Use any carrier and shipping method you prefer as long as you follow our shipping instructions. Milk will always arrive sour no matter which carrier you use and that is completely normal and usable for our process.
-I ordered multiple pieces. Do I need to send more milk?-
No! We only need 15ml - 1oz total, no matter how many pieces you order. One batch can create approximately 6-8 pieces of jewelry. All leftover preserved milk will also be stored for possible future orders.
-I have an inspo picture I would like to use, can I send that somehow?-
Yes! If you have an idea, sketch or photo you like, you can reply to your order confirmation email and send us your picture/s!
-If I want more jewelry in the future, will I need to send in more milk?-
No! We save all preserved milk in powder form incase you ever want to order more jewelry! They stay labeled with your full name and original order number!
-How do I know it’s really my breastmilk being used for my keepsake?-
Every inclusion, no matter what it is, is carefully labeled with each customers full name and order number! That label system stays with your inclusion/s during the entire process to make sure mix-ups NEVER happen!
-What if my milk is expired or was left out too long?-
No milk is off limits unless it is moldy!
If you have leftover milk in a bottle or left your milk out on the counter for too long, it can still be used!
Maybe you still have milk in your freezer after 2, 3, 4 years? Don’t worry, it can be used too!
-How do I care for my jewelry?-
Avoid using creams, perfumes, sanitizers, etc., while wearing your jewelry. Direct contact with cosmetics can damage your resin stones.
Handle your jewelry as delicately as you can to avoid surface scratches.
It is recommend to remove your jewelry when using harsh chemicals, going into swimming pools/salt water and being exposed to prolonged sunlight/heat (such as laying out to tan and NEVER leave your jewelry in your car)
Store jewelry in a dry, dark place (i.e.: jewelry box, velvet bag).
Rose gold/Gold plated sterling silver pieces have natural wear with time. Sterling silver and solid gold pieces will hold up better with daily wear and tear.
If stones become dirty, use a very soft bristle brush to clean the stone’s surface (rough bristles can cause scratches).
Treat your keepsakes as if they are as delicate as pearls.
-Is your jewelry wafer-proof?-
All jewelry items are sealed with a water-resistant and UV-resistant resin. They are NOT water-proof, but they will not get ruined by occasionally washing your hands.
-Will my stone(s) turn yellow over time?-
With proper care, your stones should last a lifetime! Please make sure to follow care instructions very carefully to avoid any discoloration.
-Does jewelry tarnish or turn your finger green?-
Jewelry is available in 925 Sterling Silver and solid gold. Over time, Sterling Silver will tarnish, however you can use the provided cleaning cloth to easily polish the silver. Sterling silver will not turn your fingers green.
Plated pieces (rose gold and gold) will not last as long as sterling silver or solid gold.
-How long will the gold or rose gold plating last?-
The lifetime of plating depends on many factors such as body chemistry, amount of wear, and if you follow our care instructions. The pieces that are plated will wear down to expose the sterling silver underneath. You are paying for the sterling silver core and not the plating. In most cases, wear will happen where there is the most amount of body contact. This is an inherent risk taken when ordering any plated item.
